A lot of the lead-up to Texas' matchup against Florida has been about the matchup itself, which is fair given it's a trip to The Swamp and Texas' first Southeastern conference game of the season. But the weather could prove to be a big storyline come kickoff time.

According to weather.com, there's a 64% chance of rain around kickoff time, with thunderstorms also possible throughout the game. Long story short, The Swamp may actually be a swamp this Saturday.

Fortunately for the Longhorns, they've been preparing for situations like this.

"We practice with wet balls every week," Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said. "We don't wait for the week of."

However, it's one thing to do it in practice; it's a completely different ballgame trying to exchange snaps, throw the ball and catch with game pressure and 90,000 fans watching. The truth is that if it does rain, there will be mistakes, dropped passes, slips and probably some turnovers.

It could be an ugly game, which you would think plays into the Gators' hands. However, Sarkisian believes he's built a team that can win any type of game.

"We're very versatile. And I think that probably started about two years ago, where we felt we could win games a variety of ways," Sarkisian said. "Are you comfortable winning a one-score game...that's going to come down to one possession? And I think that's something that we've worked hard on."

No matter how much Sarkisian trusts his team in tough situations, it wouldn't be smart to stick to the same game plan he had if it was 75 and sunny.

"You have to have the ability to adjust and be adaptable for what may present itself," Sarkisian said. "Then you try to put your players in the best position to have success."

If the rain starts coming down, the Longhorns will have to rely a lot more on their running backs. The running game has been inconsistent, and that'll have to change if Texas wants to win a slug fest.

You also have to factor in the experience Florida has in rainy situations. Florida is notorious for its tropical weather, and you can guarantee most of the Gators have tons of experience in that kind of weather.

Who knows what the skies will look like as the time hits 2:30 p.m. CT at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Either way, both squads have to be prepared for the unexpected, because whoever could find itself victorious.
