Last month, the Oklahoma Sooners went into Bryant-Denny Stadium and defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 23-21, snapping Alabama's eight-game winning streak.
After the game, some Oklahoma players took pictures together while standing on the Crimson Tide logo at midfield. They then argued with an Alabama staffer who told them to "be respectful."
Well, the Crimson Tide will face the Sooners once again next week, as the two SEC squads will do battle in the College Football Playoff next Friday.
Let's just say that Alabama linebacker Justin Jefferson is ready for some revenge.
“That type of disrespect will be addressed on the field,” Jefferson said, via Nick Kelly of Al.com. “We’ve got to go give it to them. We’ve got to take the ball off them and bring it home for Alabama.”
Jefferson has been a lynchpin in the Crimson Tide's defense this year, having racked up 73 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a couple of sacks, an interception and five passes defended, significantly improving his NFL Draft stock in the process.

The star defender is not the only Alabama player who spoke about Oklahoma's disrespectful gesture, either.
Wide receiver Ryan Williams said that the Tide have to "handle it with a grain of salt and get ready to go play next Friday." Offensive lineman Wilkin Formby took a different approach, saying he understands why teams act that way when they beat Alabama because "it's not something that happens everyday."
Regardless, the Crimson Tide clearly have some bulletin-board material to work with heading into this matchup, not that they actually needed any.
Alabama is also looking to wash the taste of an ugly SEC Championship Game loss to the Georgia Bulldogs out of its mouth. Georgia hammered the Crimson Tide by a score of 28-7 last week.
On the season overall, Alabama has gone 10-3, owning a 7-2 record in SEC play. Meanwhile, Oklahoma went 10-2, with its lone two losses coming against Texas and Ole Miss.
The Sooners are the 8-seed while the Crimson Tide are ninth in the College Football Playoff rankings. The winner will face the Indiana Hoosiers in the Rose Bowl.
