Mike Tomlin lauds Caleb Williams' pinpoint accuracy, particularly on play-action passes, proving doubters wrong despite defensive pressure.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin credited Caleb Williams for beating his defense on Sunday, 31-28.

Williams finished the day with 239 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win.

The Steelers were without quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who missed the game due to a wrist injury. Mason Rudolph played instead and had 171 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.

At his Monday press conference, Tomlin praised the Bears, but also Williams for his accuracy throughout the game. He especially thought that Williams did a great job in the play-action game.

"Man, you know, I think they just did a nice job," Tomlin said. "You gotta give those guys credit. There's some timing and inside-breaking routes. Man, the quarterback was highly accurate on play pass, and turning his back to the defense, and coming up and throwing. Sometimes you gotta give credit to your opponent, and I certainly do in this instance."

While the Bears got the win, it didn't come without some lumps from T.J. Watt and the Steelers. Watt sacked Williams in the end zone during the second quarter, and he fumbled, with Nick Herbig recovering for a touchdown.

Then, D'Andre Swift fumbled the ball on the following offensive drive. Luckily, the Chicago defense stepped up and stopped Pittsburgh on downs.

The Steelers' defense may not be as good at forcing turnovers as the Bears, but they are very close. After Sunday, Chicago leads the league with 24 turnovers, while Pittsburgh is in second with 20.

Sunday was a milestone for the Bears, as it was the first time this season they had beaten a team with a winning record.

The Bears will have a big test against another team with a winning record in Week 13. The Chicago Bears travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday.

The Eagles are 8-3 after a heartbreaking 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia had a 21-0 lead in the second quarter but was held scoreless the rest of the game.

With the loss, the Eagles now hold the No. 2 seed in the NFC Playoff race. The Los Angeles Rams jumped them after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34-7 on Sunday Night Football.

The Bears and Eagles play each other for the first time since the 2022 season on Friday. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. CT as Chicago aims for its fifth win in a row.
