Vibes are high in Chicago after a 24-20 win over the New York Giants.
While the Chicago Bears didn't have the most perfect win, it still counts the same. The Bears scored a touchdown in the first quarter, but then couldn't find the end zone again until the fourth quarter.
Down 20-10, Caleb Williams led two clutch touchdown drives to secure a win for the Bears. He threw a touchdown pass to Rome Odunze and then ran in for another score with 1:47 left.
What fans didn't know from watching the game is that Williams got some extra motivation from one of his teammates before the go-ahead touchdown drive. Backup quarterback Case Keenum delivered a pep talk to Williams and predicted that the Bears would get the ball back and win the game.
"You're dealing right now, bro," Keenum said. "I freaking love it. Go get a dirty one. Rally the boys. Let's go, man. Hey, they're about to make a stop for you, right now. You're gonna go win us this game."
Williams had 220 passing yards, 63 rushing yards and two total touchdowns on the day.
It's not hard to see why Williams was able to be calm under pressure with a teammate like Keenum hyping him up on the sidelines.
Keenum has been with Chicago since the franchise signed him to a one-year deal in April. Before joining the Bears, he spent the last two seasons with the Houston Texans.
Keenum has had a long NFL career, spending time with franchises like the Buffalo Bills (2022), Cleveland Browns (2020-21) Washington Commanders (2019), Denver Broncos (2018), Minnesota Vikings (2017) and Los Angeles Rams (2016).
While he's been in the NFL for quite some time, Keenum holds a piece of college football history. He has the most career passing yards in college football history from his time with the Houston Cougars from 2007-2011, at 19,217.
He's tied with current Browns quarterback and Oregon star Dillon Gabriel for the most career passing touchdowns in NCAA history (155).
It's a great sign of the locker room culture under head coach Ben Johnson that the Bears have guys who are willing to take young players like Williams under their wing and guide them to success.
Williams and company look ahead to the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday, as they are searching for that first NFC North win in 2025.
Kickoff will be at noon CT on Fox.
