The Chicago Bears only declared two players out on the Friday injury report ahead of the Cleveland Browns game.
Just defensive back Kyler Gordon (groin) and running back Travis Homer (ankle) were listed as out. Receiver Rome Odunze's status is the one to watch, as he was listed as questionable. Odunze missed the Green Bay Packers game with a foot injury and has been limited every day of practice this week.
Four other players got cleared for the Bears before Sunday. Rookie linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II (shoulder), defensive back Jaylon Johnson (groin), defensive back Tyrique Stevenson (hip) and receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (hamstring) all didn't carry injury designations.
Gordon suffered his most recent injury during pregame warmups before the Packers' game. To say that it has been a rough road for him in 2025 would be an understatement.
Gordon first missed the initial four games of the season with a hamstring issue. He then played in the two following games before picking up a calf injury that caused him to be placed on the injured reserve ahead of Week 8.
What makes this more unfortunate for him is that he just signed a three-year, $40 million extension with the team, according to Spotrac.
Luckily, with Gordon out, the Bears still have Johnson and Stevenson available in the secondary. Johnson just got over his injury issues after being on the IR with a groin injury since Week 2. He was activated for the Philadelphia Eagles game and has been healthy ever since.
We'll have to wait and see on Odunze's status, but getting him back for the Browns game would be great. He'll be a game-time decision with his questionable status.
The Browns have the second-fewest passing yards allowed per game this season at 188. Having your leading receiver on the field for a defense that good definitely can't hurt. Odunze has 661 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
For Hyppolite, he'll definitely be a welcome sight. T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell were able to return to play against the Packers, but the team is still without Tremaine Edmunds, who is out with a groin injury.
Edmunds was placed on IR and will hopefully be cleared in time for the next meeting with the Packers in Week 16.
The Browns are 3-10 after a 31-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans, but shouldn't be taken for granted. Shedeur Sanders finished with 364 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the loss.
Sunday's game kicks off at noon CT on Fox.
