The Denver Broncos will have their hands full trying to stop the Kansas City Chiefs at home in Week 11.

At 8-2, the Broncos are tied for the second-best record in the National Football League and hold sole possession of first place in the American Football Conference West division. The Chiefs are 5-4 and sit in third place in the AFC West.

This is a game both teams need to win. If the Broncos win, it cements them as a real contender going forward and will keep a good lead over the Chiefs in the standings. If the Chiefs win, they move to 6-4 and gain a lot of momentum in their quest for the AFC West crown. Psychologically, a Broncos win would take the wind out of Kansas City’s sails and make it increasingly difficult to get into the playoffs. A Chiefs win could make the Broncos second-guess themselves moving forward.

The Broncos offense will probably need to get it done without their starting running back J.K. Dobbins. Dobbins injured his foot on a hip-drop tackle and left the game for about a quarter before returning to close out their 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10. As of Friday, he is officially questionable, though he hasn’t practiced this week.

If/when Dobbins is ruled out, rookie RJ Harvey would be the starter. Harvey could be in line for a big workload against a tough Chiefs defense.

“Broncos RB RJ Harvey should see a massive workload while J.K. Dobbins deals with a left foot injury. The matchup isn't ideal, as the Chiefs' defense has been stingy against opposing RBs,” ESPN’s Eric Moody wrote Friday. “However, Harvey has averaged 1.3 fantasy points per touch. In his only game with more than 10 touches back in Week 4, he finished with 19.8 fantasy points on 18 touches.”

Harvey has been impressive with limited touches as Dobbins’ backup. He has scored six touchdowns on 75 total touches, second-most by a rookie this season. Harvey has 214 yards on 50 carries with two rushing touchdowns as well as 25 receptions for 175 yards and four touchdowns.

Harvey’s effectiveness will rely on the state of the Broncos offense. If quarterback Bo Nix steps up, Harvey will have a better day than if Nix is struggling early like he has been this season. Expect this game to be the matchup of the week.
