The Browns coach didn't mince words.

After the Browns lost to the Jets in Week 10, reporters asked Kevin Stefanski if Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders would start at quarterback in Week 11 against the Ravens.

Stefanski said he's sticking with Gabriel.

"We're gonna stick with Dillon," Stefanski said. "Obviously, this is a young player, you're always trying to get one game better and those types of things. We have to play better as an offense, we have to coach better, all of the above."

Gabriel went 17-32 for 167 yards and two touchdowns against the Jets. He was sacked six times and missed several open receivers.

The Browns will miss the playoffs again this season, which is why many fans want to see Sanders play to see what the youngster has to offer.

After all, Sanders was a star in college.

However, Stefanski is rolling with Gabriel, who hasn't been that good this season. He entered the Jets game with 702 passing yards, five passing touchdowns and two interceptions while completing only 59.9% of his passes.

Browns veteran offensive lineman Joel Bitonio backed Stefanski's decision to keep rolling with Gabriel even though the lefty is struggling and Sanders has reportedly been playing well at practice.

"Some of the all-time greats — if you look at their interceptions, sacks, things like that — it takes a long time to see enough defenses and enough plays in this league," Bitonio said. "I'm going to continue to fight for whoever is back there. The whole offensive team has to be better for him to make sure he has his opportunities."

The Browns dropped to 2-7 after losing to the Jets. Gabriel told reporters postgame that he must play better moving forward for Cleveland to get wins.

"In certain moments, we didn't execute and that starts with me," Gabriel said. "It's always frustrating when it's not going the way you want it to. In crucial moments, you have to execute and we didn't.

"When things aren’t going well, there is always going to be change because to keep doing the same thing and don’t change anything is insanity. I feel like at times there are things that went well, that we sustained and executed."
