DraftKings will partner with the Polygon network, the latest signal the sports betting site is pushing deep into crypto and a shot in the arm for the Ethereum competitor.
DraftKings announced the partnership on Monday, which will allow Polygon to support future NFT drops and allow Draft Kings to participate in Polygon’s governance.
“Scalability and sustainability remain among the critical challenges of blockchain technology,” Paul Liberman, president of global product and technology at DraftKings, said in a statement on Monday. “Although DraftKings Marketplace is still in its nascency, we are bullish on the possibilities that blockchain, NFTs, cryptocurrency and more will present as we prepare for Web 3.0 alongside Polygon and the new innovations ahead for digital collectibles.”
DraftKings launched its own NFT marketplace last summer and has completed several sports-themed NFT drops since.
