New Frontiers in Crypto: Sustainable Technology for a Blockchain Future

Experts in the blockchain space discuss how they anticipate this phase of crypto innovation to evolve.

There’s a lot of talk about how Web3 has the potential to overcome existing social barriers related to gender, race and nationality—but what does that look like in practice? Alyze Sam, Lucia Gallardo, Carolin Wend and Olayinka Odeniran all bring experience as female founders in the blockchain space. They joined Roundtable to discuss gender, identity and the future of Web3.

In this segment, the panelists discuss the ongoing challenges they face in the continued evolution and future of blockchain.

Olayinka Odeniran sees the current moment of wider crypto adoption as an opportunity to begin working on a new level.

“Even in 2018, we were trying to combat that negative connotation and the misconceptions about this space. So we were building, we were focused more on educating,” she said. “Right now we can relax. We can really focus on creating.”

Alyze Sam notes that ongoing challenges now have to do with navigating the evolving regulatory landscape—and creating infrastructure for the future.

“A lot of us are figuring out what's legal two, what's going to be useful, what's not going to get shut down, what is something that we can stack and build on,” she said “We need to mind our P and QS and make sure that we're building sustainable technology that the government will approve of.”
