The CEO of Bakkt, Gavin Michael, said that bringing Ethereum provides access to another popular cryptocurrency and allows flexible opportunities for its users.

“At Bakkt, providing flexible opportunities for users to enjoy their digital assets is a top consideration, and adding Ethereum brings a popular and growing cryptocurrency to our roster,” said Michael.

He added that users have already enjoyed their system's capabilities with Bitcoin and adding Ethereum will complement its existing features.

“Bakkt users have already enjoyed the app’s capabilities to leverage bitcoin and we are confident that our addition of Ethereum will be a complement to our growing ecosystem of partners and assets.”

Ethereum has recently hit new all-time highs of nearly $4,700. The addition of Ethereum to Bakkt's platform seems like an obvious choice when the runner-up crypto has a market capitalization of well over half a trillion dollars.
