MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani partners with FTX crypto exchange
FTX has announced a new partnership with the MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani, who will become a long-term brand ambassador.

In exchange for his role as a brand ambassador for FTX, Ohtani will be compensated in FTX equity as well as cryptocurrency. FTX will also begin making annual contributions to various charities on behalf of Ohtani.
Ohtani will begin serving as a spokesperson for FTX helping to raise awareness around the FTX brand as well as cryptocurrency in general.

The founder and CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, said that FTX is revolutionizing the digital asset space and that Ohtani's leadership within baseball, along with his support of digital assets, made him an easy choice for the brand.
"As a company that is revolutionizing the digital asset ecosystem and greater financial landscape, we are continuously looking for partners that share our commitment to being a leader in their respective space. Shohei has become a transcendent player in baseball in just a short period of time and this, combined with his support of digital assets, made it an easy choice to enter into a partnership with him," said Bankman-Fried.

Ohtani is currently one of the best players in the league in terms of statistics. In the 2021 season, Ohtani was the first player in the history of the MLB to simultaneously be an All-Star as a pitcher and a hitter.
With this partnership, FTX now has some of the most high-profile athletes in the world, including Tom Brady, Steph Curry and now Shohei Ohtani, to help spread the word about its brand and cryptocurrency in general.
