The U.S. SEC has delayed its decision on whether Grayscale’s proposed spot Ethereum ETFs can engage in staking, extending the deadline to June 1. The ETFs, filed through NYSE Arca, seek approval to participate in Ethereum’s proof-of-stake system while maintaining custody safeguards. The postponement comes amid crypto market turbulence and rising U.S.-China trade tensions. While the SEC has grown more crypto-friendly under President Trump’s administration, including appointing pro-crypto chairman Paul Atkins, it's unclear if this delay signals reluctance or caution. Bloomberg analysts expect a staking approval could come by the end of 2025. Source: Decrypt
