The Roundtable: Tools for Crypto Utopias

Is it really too early to use Web3 to create a better world?

A panel of experts joined Roundtable to discuss the future of mainstream crypto adoption and adjacent issues. In this segment, they discuss regulation and the utopian vision of crypto adoption.

Alex Gordon Brander of CODEX notes that there's a divide in the Web3 community between those motivated by profit and those who see crypto as a tool for transformative good.

"For how many people is this really just a get-rich-quick scheme, and they don't care about any of the decentralization? We can't support get-rich-quick forever," he says.

"It's a complicated topic and to even expect senators and regulators to understand it is quite a stretch."

Luke Stokes of FIO Protocol argues that the crypto-curious—particularly those looking to use the technology for positive social impact—should go all-in in building infrastructure on the blockchain.

"Just embrace the technology. Don't even bother with fiat. These tools are are global. They're borderless," he says.
