Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni just made a statement that is sure to aggravate the fanbase.

The Philadelphia Eagles' offense has mostly been a complete mess over the first six weeks of the season, ranking 30th in the NFL. Jalen Hurts doesn't seem to be on the same page as his wide receivers, and Saquon Barkley's efficiency has dipped tremendously from last year.

The Eagles' struggles have resulted in many calling for the team to make a change as far as play calling is concerned, as new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has labored.

However, Nick Sirianni shut that notion down this week, flatly saying "no" when asked if he has made any changes to the team's play-calling strategy heading into Week 7.

"Not in this sport is it ever on one person,” Sirianni said. “We’re not in the business of assigning blame. We’re in the business of finding solutions.”

Philadelphia has lost two games in a row after getting off to a 4-0 start, most recently losing to the New York Giants by a score of 34-17 last Thursday. They didn't score in the second half, one week after blowing a 14-point fourth-quarter lead in a loss to the Denver Broncos.

The Eagles have not even looked all that impressive during their wins. For example, they did not complete a single pass during the second half of their Week 4 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which irritated A.J. Brown to the point where he expressed his displeasure on social media.

There is clearly something wrong with the defending Super Bowl champions, both in terms of on-field production and in terms of their locker-room dynamic. Hurts seems pretty obviously disconnected from Brown and DeVonta Smith right now, and even the usually mild-mannered Barkley seems to be pretty perturbed when speaking to reporters.

On the bright side, there is plenty of time for Philadelphia to turn things around. But conversely, it's important to remember that Philly experienced a similar slide during the second half of 2023, and it resulted in the Eagles getting hammered in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs and then sweeping changes across the coaching staff.

We'll see if Philadelphia can rebound against the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday.
