    Was Jalen Hurts this bad?

The Eagles improved to 7-2 on the season after beating the Packers in Week 10 by a final score of 10-7.

However, the Eagles' passing led by QB Jalen Hurts struggled again, racking up just 183 net yards.

Hurts went 15-26 for 183 yards and one touchdown against the Packers. He also lost a fumble, prompting NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report to give the Super Bowl MVP the following grade for his performance: D.

"Just when conversation about what's wrong with the Philadelphia Eagles offense died down, the unit looked uninspired and lethargic coming out of the team's bye week," Sobleski wrote. "Once again, questions about Jalen Hurts' effectiveness will jump to the forefront after a fumble during Philadelphia's initial offensive series Monday, which was followed by 24 yards of offense to round out the first half.

"Conversely, Hurts did connect with wide receiver DeVonta Smith on a 36-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, which ended up being the game-winning play. Overall, Monday's performance became the fifth time this season that Hurts threw for fewer than 185 yards. Obviously, the Eagles have other ways to win, hence their continued success with a 7-2 record. Usually, Philadelphia can lean on its run game and outstanding offensive line. The defense did its part against the Packers.

"At some point, Hurts needs to take the reins and become the team's offensive catalyst. In doing so, he can prove he's more than a gimmick short-yardage play."

Hurts has 1,860 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns and one interception on the season. He's 18th in the NFL in passing yards.

For the Eagles to repeat as champions, Hurts and the Eagles' passing game has to get it together.

“In hindsight, it was slow early on, kind of finding our footing in the game,” Hurts said. “We found it when we needed it to.”

Hurts is right, the Eagles' passing game woke up when it needed to late in the Packers game. Hurts threw a beautiful 36-yard touchdown pass to WR DeVonta Smith.

Why it's taking so long for Hurts and Co. to get going, though, remains a mystery.

“Every game is different,” Hurts said. “From a macro perspective, you can look on the outside looking in and say, why are we not doing this in this game or that in that game? Every game is different. There’s a strategic game plan going in of, maybe we want to approach it this way.”

The Eagles take on the Lions next week. Let's see how Hurts responds after playing poorly in Green Bay.
