The Philadelphia Eagles haven't had their best season, but they are in a position to clinch the NFC East title and a playoff berth in Week 16.
The Eagles would clinch their playoff spot with a win over the Washington Commanders, or a Dallas Cowboys loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, or an Eagles tie and a Cowboys tie.
This gives Philadelphia a likely chance to win the division title. The Eagles had been struggling, but came away with a dominant 31-0 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts had a bounce-back performance after an ugly loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14. In that game, Hurts completed 21 of 40 passes for zero touchdowns and four interceptions. He also lost a fumble in the game.
The 27-year-old quarterback played much more efficiently against the Raiders, completing 12 of 15 passes for 175 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Hurts added 39 yards on the ground on seven carries.
While the Raiders are one of the worst teams in football, this performance could be the turnaround that the Eagles' offense was in need of.
Philadelphia still has a ton of talent coming off a Super Bowl title over the Kansas City Chiefs in February.
"Yes, I've learned a lot from all the losses. I've learned a lot from all the victories," offensive guard Landon Dickerson said about the media calling out Hurts' play. "I think a special one usually has a favor and this feel of discernment, feeling of good faith and belief in work. Seeing how things can end and just wanting to walk out that vision and walk out that belief that I had one game at a time, one day at a time. It's just a step in that direction. Not barriers, it's just bumps in the road. It's about how you respond to it, step over it and overcome."
Philadelphia internally has a belief in Hurts. He has showcased his talent over the years, winning Super Bowl MVP last season.
If Hurts is able to play efficient football and limit turnovers down the stretch, the Eagles will have a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs.
