Santa Clarita: Around 11:43 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a scene of a crash involving an RV into the Santa Clara Riverbed on Jakes Way and Lost Canyon Road in Santa Clarita. The driver was reported trapped in the RV at the time of the incident. The Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station later confirmed to Key News that there was one fatality. The identity of the deceased individual is unknown at this time.

The RV appeared to have driven off the roadway, traveled down a short embankment, and then crashed into a bed of rocks. A tow truck was on the scene to pull the RV off the rocks and back up to the roadway. Los Angeles County Urban Search and Rescue were also called to the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

The Los Angeles County Coroner has identified the deceased as 80-year-old Gordon McGuff from Santa Clarita. His death occurred as a result of natural causes.
