Topanga: Los Angeles County Fire Department crews continue to battle the Flores Fire that was at approximately 7 acres as of 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021. Firefighters engaged in structure defense as the fire moved closer to homes. 

LACoFD responded to the brush fire, named the Flores Fire, around 3:01 p.m. on Tuna Canyon Road and Las Flores Heights Road. The units at the scene at that time reported the fire to be 3 acres in size with structures threatened. 

At around 5:30 p.m., LACoFD reported that forward progress has been stopped. Approximate acreage stands at 15. 195 firefighters are committed to air and ground attack on the fire. LACoFire Air Ops water dropping helicopters and fixed wing retardant dropping aircraft were utilized to battle the blaze.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury, and no civilian injuries were reported, according to the fire department.
