Palmdale: A deputy-involved shooting occurred around 7:47 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, on the 200 block of East Avenue R in the City of Palmdale after a pursued suspect vehicle crashed head-on into a patrol vehicle injuring two deputies. 

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a strong-arm robbery occurred around 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the City of Lancaster. At approximately 7:00 p.m., deputies observed the suspect driving a white SUV. Deputies pursued the suspect to the City of Palmdale where the pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns for the public. 

Deputies located the suspect again a short time later at which point the suspect made a U-turn and started driving towards the deputies, according to the Sheriff's Department. The suspect attempted to crash into one of the oncoming patrol vehicles, and missed. He then intentionally collided head-on with another patrol vehicle, when a deputy-involved shooting occurred at that time, according to LASD.

The Sheriff's Department said that the two deputies involved in the collision were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, a male Hispanic adult, was also transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was released from the hospital and transported to the Sheriff's Lancaster Station for booking.
