Los Angeles: At 1:17 p.m., Friday, Jan.10, 2020, a hiker was reported to be in distress in Griffith Park. When LAFD arrived, the hiker was found to be in cardiac distress. LAFD, along with Park Rangers, worked to provide life-saving measures. According to LAFD, air transport was being prepared by Fire 1, and firefighters were putting water on the ground with hose lines to manage dust at the heliport as firefighter-paramedics worked to save the hiker's life by doing everything they could, but determined that the patient was beyond medical help. The care of the patient was transferred to the coroner and no LAFD hospital transport was made.

The identity of the hiker has not yet been released.
