LAPD Father's Day Local Community Event in Pacoima
LAPD and Champions In Service collaborated for a Father's Day community event at the David Gonzales Recreation Park with a focus on baseball, good food, fun things to do, and special guests.
Pacoima: The Los Angeles Police Department and Champions In Service collaborated to bring a local community Father’s Day event to the David Gonzales Recreation Park on the 10900 block of Herrick Avenue. They kicked off the Saturday, June 19, 2021 event with a free Cal Ripken Sr. youth baseball clinic for kids of all ages early in the morning instructed by the LAPD baseball team. All participants received a free Cal Ripken Sr. t-shirt, free barbecue lunch, beverages, dad contests, music, photo booth, and carnival games for prizes. Special guests who threw out first pitches included actor Danny Trejo, Dodgers legend Manny Mota, Congressman Tony Cardenas and LAPD Chief Michel Moore.
