Hollywood: An unknown type of vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian Thursday, Oct. 28, at approximately 3:36 a.m. while attempting to negotiate the Southbound 101 Vine Street exit. The vehicle crashed through a k-rail, a fence, and some brush before coming to rest against an apartment building at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Vine Street in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. 

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene and was able to extricate and transport one male victim from the vehicle in stable condition to a local area hospital. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Division is handling the investigation. California Highway Patrol had the off-ramp closed pending investigation.
