Los Angeles: Just after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, CHP and LAFD responded to an incident of a person who had been struck on the 10 Freeway near Western Avenue. When crews arrived, the person was already deceased. According to Key Photo Journalist at the scene, the deceased was found in the #1 westbound lane 1/4 mile from Western. Just before the incident, CHP was in the process of towing an abandoned vehicle on the side of the freeway when the call came in from a driver reporting that he hit something in the road where the person was found not far from the towing location. It has not been determined whether the abandoned vehicle belonged to the person who was killed. It was also not determined if the caller was involved in the incident.

CHP is investigating. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
