
Video: Man Survives Fiery High-Speed Crash in Westlake
The driver of a Jeep SUV survived a fiery high-speed crash into a light pole early Thursday morning on West 2nd Street in Westlake.
Westlake: A Jeep SUV traveling at a high rate of speed, crashed into a light pole, overturned and caught fire on the 1300 block of West 2nd Street. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the call along with Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Division officers at approximately 1:26 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021.
The solo male driver was located by fire personnel approximately 100 feet east of where the car came to rest on 2nd Street. LAFD extinguished the flames in approximately five minutes. The male victim was transported by LAFD firefighter/paramedics to a local area hospital in serious, but stable condition. 2nd street was closed in both directions for an unknown duration while crews worked to clean up the scene.
