LSU Tigers dominate UNO Privateers 93-58. Mike Nwoko nets 22, Marquel Sutton adds 15 points and 15 rebounds in commanding victory.

The LSU Tigers will move to 2-0 on the season after taking down the New Orleans Privateers by a score of 93-58 on Monday night. The Tigers only surpassed 90 points four times last season and have now done it in both games to start the year.

While the Privateers aren't necessarily elite competition, they also couldn't be completely overlooked. New Orleans had already pulled off a massive upset of the TCU Horned Frogs to start their season.

Louisiana native rapper Master P became the president of basketball operations for the team this summer and has done a great job of reviving the program in just a couple of months.

This game also went a little bit deeper than just basketball, as the Privateers will enter the LSU system in July 2026 in an effort to save the school from going under.

The Tigers did a good job of staying prepared and not letting a weaker opponent get the better of them.

LSU forward Mike Nwoko led all scorers in this game with 22 points with five rebounds, a block and a steal in 20 minutes. He was an efficient 9-of-13 from the field.

Nwoko is on his third team in as many years. He started with the Miami Hurricanes and spent last season with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Senior forward Marquel Sutton also had a great game with 15 points and 15 rebounds while going 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. That level of spacing will come in handy throughout the season.

The Tigers will take on the FIU Panthers on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 pm for their next game.
