The Roundtable: Is Paternalism Just Liberal Racism in Disguise?

Roundtable's Niko House says that racial stereotyping is the flip-side of liberal paternalism.

A panel of experts joined Roundtable to discuss the Mar-a-Lago raid, gun policy, free speech, and other current issues. In this segment, they discuss gun possession and racism.

Niko House says that, in his experience as a Black man, it is often liberals who respond to him in ways that are considered classically "racist."

"When I lived in New York, it was usually liberal [types] who [crossed the street] when they saw me," he says. "Most conservative [types] do a little head nod."

"When I was in Texas, it was 'How you doing?' And they keep it walking," he notes.

"We don't really need extra. We just want the same. But with liberals—that same mentality that makes them want to coddle us also makes them treat us like racists."
