A panel of guests from across the political spectrum joined Roundtable for a roundup on this summer's biggest debates, from abortion access to gun violence to transgender issues. In this segment, they discuss gun violence and the culpability of a hugely profitable gun industry.
Sharon Kyle argues that at the crux of the gun-violence issue is a subject often overlooked in public debate: the gun industry's profits.
"As long as people continue to benefit financially, we're never really gonna be able come to terms with this," she argues. "The bigger problem aside from common sense gun laws is the proliferation of weapons in this country for the profit of the few."
She adds that arms manufacturers have repeatedly been put ahead of the public good.
"All of our lives are in danger so that a small cadre of people can be ultra rich," she adds.
"That is really what needs to be handled."
