IRWINDALE, Calif., Apr. 26 (KNN) — Azusa police officers pursued a stolen Chevrolet pickup truck Friday morning on the westbound 210 Freeway at Azusa Avenue. The suspect drove at speeds between 90 and 100 miles per hour, taking the westbound 210 Freeway to the southbound 605 Freeway. Due to the high-speed pursuit on the freeways, the Azusa Police Department requested assistance from the California Highway Patrol.

The suspect exited the southbound 605 Freeway at East Lower Azusa Road in Irwindale. At the intersection of East Lower Azusa Road and the 605 Freeway, the suspect crashed into a semi-trailer at high speed. Despite the crash, the suspect managed to exit the vehicle and fled onto the on-ramp of the southbound 605 Freeway.

Authorities from the CHP and the Azusa PD apprehended the suspect. Both the suspect and the semi-trailer driver were evaluated by firefighters at the scene, but neither was transported to the hospital.
