SAN DIMAS, Calif., July 10 (KNN) – Multiple 911 calls reported a brush fire on the southbound 57 Freeway, just south of Covina Boulevard in San Dimas on Wednesday night.
Local fire and law enforcement agencies, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the California Highway Patrol, responded to the incident around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a brush fire covering a quarter to half an acre. They quickly contained the blaze within 15 to 20 minutes of arriving on the scene.
A witness reported that a person parked along the roadside ignited a firework, which caused the brush to catch fire. It remains unclear whether anyone has been taken into custody or issued a citation in connection with the incident.
