MENIFEE, Calif., July 16 (KNN) — A road rage incident ended in the shooting death of a driver in Menifee late Monday evening.
According to the Menifee Police Department, the incident was determined to be a road rage involving a firearm that began on Bundy Canyon Road near the 15 Freeway in Murietta and continued into Menifee around 9:30 p.m.
One of the involved drivers discharged a firearm, striking the driver of the other vehicle near the intersection of Scott and Haun Road, according to the Menifee PD press release of the incident. “When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 36-year-old male suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body,” the press release read.
The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Suspect Ryan Dabe, 48, of Menifee, had stopped near the scene and was taken into custody without incident. He was later placed under arrest for murder and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
Detectives with the Menifee Police Department responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
