Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continues to make his feelings clear on Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons.

The Green Bay Packers swooped in to save Micah Parsons just before the season started, acquiring him in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys and then handing him the historic contract extension he so desired.

It was a rather nasty Dallas exit for Parsons, who spent the first four years of his career with the Cowboys and appeared to be on an all-time trajectory with the franchise.

However, the two side could not find common ground on a new deal, and a whole lot of incendiary things were said throughout the process.

Dallas sent Parsons to Green Bay in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and a couple of first-round draft picks, and in the midst of it all, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has insisted that he did what was best for the team.

His feelings clearly haven't changed, not even after seeing Parsons rack up a career-high three sacks in the Packers' win over the Arizona Cardinals last weekend.

“I expected that,” Jones told Dianna Russini of The Athletic. “When I made the trade, I thought both sides would do well — us with Clark and the picks, and him up there. We both have good days, and we have our picks.”

Those comments from Jones are actually quite a bit less combustible than his previous remarks, but it's clear he is sticking to his guns.

“The numbers got Micah,” Jones added. “Not me. He’s elite, but we were better off with numbers of players. It had nothing to do with contracts or agents. I’d love to have Micah plus everything I got. But I can’t. That’s the cap.”

Dallas originally selected Parsons with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. He racked up four straight double-digit sack campaigns during his tenure with the Cowboys, topping out at 14 sacks in 2023. He also finished within the top three in Defensive Player of the Year voting three times throughout his stay.

Parsons got off to a relatively slow start this season thanks to a back injury that limited him early on, but his breakout game in Week 7 now has him at 16 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 13 quarterback hits for the year.

Most importantly, the Packers are 4-1-1 and sit atop the NFC North. They will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
