The Hondo Rodeo Fest continues to expand its offerings and will soon introduce new venues and cities to its lineup. Exciting developments for 2026 and 2027 have recently been announced. The Hondo Rodeo Fest is expanding. Today in Phoenix AZ at Chase Field, the Hondo had the pre rodeo press conference. They announced that they will be expanding in 2026 to New Orleans.
During the inaugural Rodeo last year, we witnessed an amazing blend of the “Best of the Best” with headliner music performances. This year is no different. The eight best athletes of Bareback, Saddle bronc, roping, barrel racing and break away and the twelve bull riders will be competing for one million dollars over three days.
After each night, the music starts right away. Nickelback, Kid Rock and Jason Aldean with “opening acts” that include Jon Pardi, Riley Green and Treaty Oak Revival.
This marriage of Western Lifestyle and entertainment has allowed Hondo to expand to New Orleans, in Caesars Superdome, giving the same Top performances, but this time in a new region of the country. The Hondo team is committed to building the new Rodeo experience and expanding this format to change the game by adding cities to the tour over through 2027.

Champion Barrel Racer Lisa Lockart was on hand to field some questions, and she had a lot of positive things to say about competing at the Hondo.

The Hondo Rodeo continues to be one of the best Rodeos of the year, and fans will attest. With the expansion into other markets, it will quickly grow into a national event, far more than what it is today.
