A few days before MLK's birthday, the city of Boston unvieled a statue on the Boston Common to an eager crowd of locals. As local news reporters applauded the $10 million bronze sculpture, they were hit with numerous critiques on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

While the sculpture was supposed to represent a photo of MLK and his wife Coretta Scott King's hugging each other, many viewers had difficulty figuring out what the statue was supposed to be. Depending on the angle, some viewers thought they saw two hands holding giant penis. Others thought they saw two hands holding a poop.

Many criticized the absence of MLK and Coretta's face. The statue only shows their arms and hands; which also makes it more difficult to indentify the couple. After all, for those who haven't seen the photo, they have no idea who the arms and hands belong to.
