The Toronto Blue Jays are coming off their most successful season in over 30 years.
The Blue Jays won their first pennant since 1993 and made it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series before ultimately falling to the Los Angeles Dodgers in extra innings.
As great as Toronto's season was, it didn't end well for Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios.
The two-time former All-Star ended the year on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation and was moved from the starting rotation to the bullpen before the injury.
Berrios finished the year with a 4.17 ERA with 138 strikeouts in 166 innings pitched across 31 appearances (30 starts).
Berrios is set to earn $19 million in 2026. He'll have an opt-out after next season. If he choose stop opt in, he'll earn $24 million in 2027 and '28, respectively.
Toronto will likely have an open spot in the starting rotation with Max Scherzer hitting free agency, and Berrios will likely get an opportunity to reclaim his spot on the rotation.
How confident in you that Berrios can bounce back in 2026?
