    The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night as the first baseman continued his blistering second half, going 3-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.

    The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-1 on Friday night at Rogers Centre, moving to 85-62 on the season. 

    With the best winning percentage in the American League, the Blue Jays are currently in position to earn the top seed in the looming American League playoffs, which would also earn them homefield advantage.

    Starting pitcher Chris Bassitt pitched well in a no-decision, giving up one earned run in five innings, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helped carry the offense, going 3-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.

    With that RBI, he passed Hall of Famer Eddie Murray on a historic list as well, according to StatsCentre.

    It's been a stellar second half for Guerrero, who is hitting .359 post All-Star break. In total, he's hitting .305 with 23 homers, 80 RBIs and six stolen bases.

    One of the most productive hitters in the league, he signed a $500 million contract extension earlier this season.

    As for Murray, who he passed? He spent 21 years in the big leagues with the Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland, New York Mets and Anaheim Angels. A lifetime .287 hitter, he popped 504 home runs and 560 doubles. He had 1,917 RBIs and 110 stolen bases.

    An eight-time All-Star, a three-time Silver Slugger and a three-time Gold Glover, he also won a Rookie of the Year. He earned induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.

    As for Guerrero and the Blue Jays, they'll take on the Orioles again on Saturday afternoon at 3:07 p.m. ET. Max Scherzer will pitch against Tomoyuki Sugano.
