SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners trailed the Toronto Blue Jays for most of Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Sunday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The Mariners trailed 1-0 after the bottom of the first inning after designated hitter George Springer hit a solo home run to right field on the first pitch of the game from M's starting pitcher Bryce Miller.
That remained the score through the first 5.2 innings of the game.
With two outs and nobody on, Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh hit solo home run to right field to tie the game 1-1.
At the Hatback Bar and Grille in Seattle, in the same building as the ALCS Game 1 watch party at Victory Hall, fans had a vocal reaction to Raleigh's game-tying hit.
Center fielder Julio Rodriguez was walked the following plate appearance, advanced to second on a wild pitch and was brought home on an RBI single hit by Jorge Polanco.
The Mariners led the Blue Jays 2-1 through the top of the sixth in Game 1 of the ALCS.
