Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers was complimentary of Kevin Porter Jr. after his 32-point game

The Milwaukee Bucks might've been able to pull off a win in their last matchup against the Detroit Pistons when Giannis Antetokounmpo left after just three minutes of action. However, they were unable to channel that again on Saturday night, as the Pistons got their revenge at home with a 124-112 win over the Bucks to hand them their 15th loss of the season.

It was a dominant effort from the Pistons on the glass, who grabbed 53 rebounds to the Bucks' 36, as Jalen Duren led the way with 16 boards. On the bright side for Milwaukee, it was a strong performance from Kevin Porter Jr, who has elevated to the team's top scoring option in the absence of Giannis.

    Doc Rivers Praises Star Guard

After the game, on the positive side of things, head coach Doc Rivers shared some praise for Porter Jr.'s play, and how he's stepped up as a top scorer for them.

"He's the one guy that can get his shot whenever he wants to. And I actually think he's doing it the right way, he's moving the ball, letting the ball come back to him, but then with low clock, we have a guy you can get the ball to, and he can make shots for us," Rivers said.

Porter Jr. finished with 32 points on 7-of-9 shooting from three, as well as dishing out six assists and having four steals, all with only one turnover. Porter Jr. has proven in prior stops in his career that he can be a high-end scorer and is now averaging 27 points per game in the month of December.

"I just love the way he's playing because he doesn't do it early in the clock, he tries to move the ball, then he gets it back, that's one of our big pluses right now that he can do that," he added.

He's currently on a two-year, $10.5 million deal with the Bucks, but if he continues to produce as he has recently, he'll more than likely decline his $5.39 million player option for next season, setting himself up for an extension at 26 years old.

As for the rest of the Bucks team, nobody else did anything really noteworthy, as they ran into a top-notch Pistons team that was looking to seek revenge after a loss in their prior meeting.

Looking ahead for the Bucks, they'll return to action on Thursday when they see the Boston Celtics at home.
