The Miami Heat earned their first victory of the season, on the road, against the Memphis Grizzlies in powerful fashion.

Memphis, TN - The Miami Heat were ready for a drama-free regular season, coming off a Jimmy Butler contract dispute all of last year. However, the peace didn't last long after news broke that veteran guard Terry Rozier was arrested on Thursday morning due to alleged involvement in an FBI gambling investigation. He is currently on paid leave.

The takedown occurred less than 12 hours after the Heat suffered a defeat to the Orlando Magic, with a final score of 125-121. Despite falling in their season opener, while Rozier had to separate from them to attend local federal court, the Heat traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, to continue their season and prepare to face the Grizzlies.

Erik Spoelstra spoke on the situation ahead of last night's game:

"You're left with no other choice," he said. "The league doesn't wait, it doesn't stop for you. We had a meeting yesterday to address things. Today, it was the task at hand. If you've been around long in this league, you have to learn how to compartmentalize and focus on the most immediate thing, and that's preparing for an important game tonight."

Spoelstra alluded to the Grizzlies' "impressive" win in their season opener over the New Orleans Pelicans and getting the Heat ready to compete.

"Obviously, we can't comment on the situation, but Terry was somebody who's very dear to all of us," he added. "He's had a real positive impact on our locker room. Staff and players alike, and that includes last year, when he wasn't in the rotation often times. We send our thoughts and our care for him as he goes through this."

The Heat only had a moment to be shocked, then it was business as usual. Last night, they remained without Tyler Herro (ankle) and Kasparas Jakucionas (groin). Of course, Rozier was added to the list under "not with the team."

The Grizzlies were without multiple rotation players in Brandon Clarke (knee), Zach Edey (knee), Ty Jerome (calf), Scottie Pippen Jr. (toe), and Vince Williams (heel).

Ja Morant and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were both questionable with ankle injuries, but were ruled good to play ahead of tip-off.

The starting fives for both teams:

    Heat: Davion Mitchell-Norman Powell-Andrew Wiggins-Bam Adebayo-Kel'el Ware

    Grizzlies: Ja Morant-Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Jaylen Wells-Jaren Jackson Jr.-Jock Landale

Spoelstra goes with the double-big lineup after Bam Adebayo and Kel'el Ware did not share the court in the season opener against the Magic, moving Nikola Jovic to a reserve role.

The Heat set the tone early offensively and didn't look back. Adebayo was a key factor, scoring 19 points in the first quarter, in which he made all four of his three-pointers. The team followed alongside their captain, running up and down the court, scoring from all over, while defending at a high level.

The Heat scored 86 points by the time the first half was over, the most ever in franchise history. Despite a sloppy third quarter, in which the Grizzlies outscored them 29-28, they regained control of the game and earned their first victory of the season in dominant fashion, with a final score of 146-114.

Here are the biggest takeaways from last night's game:

Heat; Everybody with a chance to shine:

Adebayo got the Heat started in the first quarter, but his teammates also had outstanding moments throughout the game. They shared the ball so greatly that there were barely any isolation moments. Eight Heat players scored in double figures.

    Heat; Offense flowing like water:

The Heat finished with a 130.7 offensive rating last night, which would be the fourth-highest compared to each game from last season. The team may not have a superstar, but they have multiple capable scorers who can convert points in different ways. Whether it's creating with the ball, ball movement, or setting up others, the Heat can have multiple threats on a given night.

They also finished last night with an 111.67 pace rate, which was the highest compared to every other game last night. The Heat continue to practice what they've been preaching since training camp. Last night was the best version of it thus far.

    Grizzlies; Scoring missing, help wanted:

The Grizzlies not only couldn't match the Heat's speed, but also their scoring. After the first quarter, they were already down by 19 points. Granted, double-digit leads aren't safe in today's league, but it appeared that way last night.

Grizzlies All-Star guard Ja Morant was held to 12 points, along with two rebounds and six assists. He showed clear frustrations with not being able to break down the Heat's defense. The former lottery pick finished shooting four for 16 from the field, 25 percent.

Jaren Jackson Jr., a former Defensive Player of the Year recipient, finished with 19 points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block, but also had four fouls. They all came in the first half, when the Heat were torching them.

In the Grizzlies' season opener against the Pelicans, Jackson Jr. fouled out, also had four of them in the first half, and committed five turnovers. Not a great start to the season for the All-Star big man.

None of the other Grizzlies players were able to pick up the slack.

    Heat; Notable performances:

Norman Powell continues to find his rhythm with the Heat squad. He finished with 15 points, six rebounds, an assist, and two steals in 25 minutes of action.

Simone Fontecchio, the other offseason acquisition, finished with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 23 minutes. He has shown himself to be an excellent two-way player. Arguably, the most underrated move of the summer.

Nikola Jovic led the bench unit with 20 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block in 27 minutes. A major bounce-back performance compared to the showcase against the Magic.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. showed out with 17 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 27 minutes. He's already on pace to have an outstanding junior season after going through a "sophomore slump."

Dru Smith finished with 10 points, three rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a block. The undrafted guard continues to make an impact beyond what the stat sheet shows.

Adebayo recorded 24 points, 19 in the first quarter, along with five rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block. An outstanding performance a night after his famous girlfriend, A'Ja Wilson, was inducted into the University of South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame.

    Heat; The next game:

The Heat will fly back to Miami and prepare to take on the New York Knicks in their home opener this Sunday, at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
