The Charlotte Hornets are losing a key player from last season's team.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Seth Curry is leaving the Hornets for the Golden State Warriors.
Curry spent the past two seasons with the Hornets. He now gets to play with his brother on the Warriors.
The 35-year-old Curry appeared in 68 games for the Hornets last season. He averaged 6.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.9 assists while shooting 47.8% from the field, 45.6% from beyond the arc and 84.6% from the free-throw line.
Curry led the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage in 2024-25. He has played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Hornets.
Curry has career averages of 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in the NBA. It must certainly be neat for the Curry family to have both Seth and Stephen on the same team.
The Hornets missed the playoffs last season, while the Warriors lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round in five games.
Charlotte is still in rebuild mode. The franchise hasn't made the playoffs since 2016 and it would shock many people in the NBA if LaMelo Ball and Co. snapped that drought this season.
As for the Warriors, they are looking to win their fifth championship since drafting Stephen in 2009. Golden State most recently won the title in 2022 against the Boston Celtics in six games.
