The Los Angeles Lakers continue to battle injuries as they are set to face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday

The Los Angeles Lakers have been battling injuries since the start of the season; however, they've managed to put together an impressive 6-2, highlighted by four-straight wins, as they head into their Wednesday night contest against the San Antonio Spurs. With LeBron James still yet to debut in his record-setting 23rd NBA season, the roster has put on some impressive performances.

Last game, without Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic, the Lakers upset the Portland Trail Blazers on the road, led by strong performances from Deandre Ayton, Rui Hachimura, and Nick Smith Jr. With a contest against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs on the horizon, the Lakers are still battling to reach full health.

    Lakers Injury Report

Jovan Buha (@jovanbuha) on X Jovan Buha (@jovanbuha) on X Lakers’ injury report vs. San Antonio:

According to the NBA's official injury report, LeBron James remains OUT as he deals with sciatia, and he's joined by Maxi Kleber (abdominal), Adou Thiero (knee), and Gabe Vincent (ankle), who are all OUT as well.

Vincent is the only one of those four players who has made their 2025-26 season debut, as he's played in three games with three starts, averaging a poor 3.7 points per game.

As for the rest of the injury report for the Lakers, the most notable name is Austin Reaves, as he's listed as QUESTIONABLE with right groin soreness. Reaves missed the team's 123-115 win over the Trail Blazers, but has appeared in all seven other games this season, averaging 31.1 points and 9.3 assists per contest.

The last name listed is Jaxson Hayes, who is listed as PROBABLE as he deals with a right ankle sprain. Hayes has appeared in five games for the Lakers this year, earning one start, coming off a 2024-25 season where he saw a major role increase after Anthony Davis' departure.

Luckily for Lakers fans, Luka Doncic isn't listed on the injury report after missing Monday's contest, setting him up for his fifth game of the season. After being acquired in the blockbuster deal of the century in 2024, Doncic is starting the year off strong with averages of 41.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8.3 assists after his strong performance in EuroBasket 2025.

    Matchup Preview

Looking ahead to Wednesday's matchup, the Lakers will look to continue where they left off last year, going 3-1 against the Spurs. While the Spurs are a far-improved team this season with Wembanyama playing at an MVP-level, they are battling plenty of injuries, with Dylan Harper recently being sidelined with a calf strain.

Tip-off is set for 10:00 p.m. EST, and fans could be in store for a must-watch battle between Doncic and Wembanyama exchanging unreal plays.
