As soon as the Pistons parted ways with Malik Beasley this summer, members of Detroit's fanbase clamored for a reunion between the two parties this coming season. Beasley had a great shooting year in 2024-25, and he was instrumental in helping the Pistons set a franchise record in three-pointers en route to the playoffs.
However, Beasley has been marred by gambling investigations-- first by the FBI and now by the NBA, so he's not currently on a team as that all shakes out. Yesterday, Beasley finally posted an update on his status with those three-letter organizations.
"The NBA is doing their own investigation now," Beasley said. "The FBI is cleared, and as a league they have to do that. I respect that. Does it suck for me? Absolutely, I just want to hoop, but any day now so just stick with it. Stay patient with me. Keep me uplifted. I need that from y'all. Either way, I'm going to be playing this year, so I've gotta stay ready so I don't have to get ready, baby."
It is possible that Beasley makes a return to Motown if he is cleared by the NBA, but his ultimate destination this season remains to be seen.
