The San Antonio Spurs have won five NBA championships in franchise history.
Hall of Famers Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Gregg Popovich helped the Spurs become one of the best organizations in sports history.
Since San Antonio has five titles, there are many seasons to pick when trying to identify the franchise's best campaign of all time, but Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report is going with the 2013-14 team.
The Spurs went 62-20 and beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.
"But there was something special about the 2013-14 team, despite the fact that Duncan and Ginóbili were nearing the end of their careers," Bailey wrote. "Or maybe that's part of what made it special. Those two stars, then in their late 30s, seemed to have a preternatural understanding of the game. And their leadership was crucial in San Antonio playing some of the most beautiful basketball we've ever seen that season.
"Fresh off a stinging Finals loss in 2013 to LeBron's Heat, the Spurs looked finely tuned for revenge throughout the regular season and playoffs. Everyone was on the same page. Seemingly every possession was packed with ball and player movement. Nine players averaged at least eight points. Six were between 10 and 17 points per game. And when San Antonio got its rematch against Miami in the 2014 Finals, their team-first approach shredded the big three model. The Spurs' plus-70 point differential for the series is the biggest in NBA Finals history."
The Spurs beat the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2014 playoffs in seven games, the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round in five games, the Oklahoma City Thunder in the conference finals in six games and the Heat in the NBA Finals in five games.
Kawhi Leonard won the 2014 Finals MVP Award. The Spurs haven't reached the NBA Finals since 2014.
However, San Antonio fans are hoping that changes soon with Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper leading the way.
