One analyst thinks San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle is the 94th-best player in the NBA.
Frank Urbina of HoopsHype ranked Castle 94th in his top 100 players list for the 2025-26 season.
"Castle’s got a quick first step and a strong shoulder, allowing him to use his athleticism to finish around the basket explosively," Urbina wrote. "Castle still has to add some refinement to his game - his shooting is inconsistent, as is his decision-making - and the fact that he’ll now have to share so much of the ball with a more established point guard (who is coming up later in this ranking) could hurt his short-term production outlook this season. San Antonio also added another guard who projects to need a lot of the ball, reigning No. 2 overall draft pick Dylan Harper, to the fold, further muddying Castle’s outlook.
"Even so, overall, Castle is very promising, possessing All-Star-level tools on both ends of the floor."
Castle averaged 14.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Spurs last season while shooting 42.8% from the field, 28.5% from beyond the arc and 72.4% from the free-throw line. He won the Rookie of the Year Award.
The Spurs haven't made the playoffs since 2019. However, they have a very bright future with Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Castle, Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper leading the way.
"We're super excited about this season," Castle told Bleacher Report. "We have high expectations for ourselves. Going to the playoffs is definitely a goal of ours, but succeeding in the playoffs is also a goal. Spurs fans should really be looking forward to it."
Fox will miss the start of this season due to a hamstring injury, so Castle has to play like an All-Star for the Spurs to compete in the rugged Western Conference.
