Auburn football limped into its first bye week, dropping both its opening contests of SEC play.

While the Tigers' defensive effort was commendable in both their loss against Oklahoma and Texas A&M, they have a considerable amount of work to do on the offensive side of the ball.

Working out those kinks has been the focus of the bye week for head coach Hugh Freeze and company, as the Tigers have their toughest contest yet awaiting them on the other side of it.

During his weekly appearance on the SEC Coaches Teleconference, Freeze emphasized the importance of improvement for both the players and staff.

"Obviously trying to get some of our kids as healthy as possible, but also really working to improve upon the mistakes we've made in the last few games that were difficult games on the road against top eight opponents. (We) had a chance to win both if we coach a little better and make a few more plays. Our focus is to improve on those and getting ready for Georgia."

While quarterback Jackson Arnold has taken a lot of criticism as a result of both of the lackluster offensive performances Auburn has put together in its last two outings, Freeze explained how the blame does not fall soley on him and there are plenty of needed adjustments to go around.

"There's very, very few good things that you can (see), there's no way to sugarcoat it," Freeze said. "You have to reevaluate everything, starting with us as coaches, and I don't put it on Jackson (Arnold) by himself for sure."

Auburn's contest against No. 12 Georgia will be broadcast on ESPN, kickoff time is currently TBA.

"They're always a top 10 program athletically, so it's a gauntlet of a run, but we must coach better and execute better on the offensive side."
