The No. 22 Auburn Tigers open SEC play on the road against the No. 11 Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. They have a chance to pick up their first road win over a ranked opponent since 2021.

The Sooners will not let that happen easily, however, and Auburn will have its work cut out for it.

Who are the Sooners to be on the lookout for?

    John Mateer

Oklahoma's junior quarterback has had an impressive start to the season and he will be looking to make an impact on Saturday.

He is already approaching the 1,000 passing yards threshold, having gone 71-of-105 through the air for 944 yards and five touchdowns, only throwing three interceptions.

He has put his ability to use his legs on display as well, giving Auburn a dual-threat challenge to handle in its first road trip of conference play.

    Jaren Kanak

The Sooners' senior tight end has 14 receptions to his name for 245 yards so far this season.

Auburn's pass defense has struggled at times this season, and Kanak's big frame mixed with speed and agility will provide one of the toughest tests it has seen in the recieving game so far this season.

Finding a way to make Manteer find other options will help Auburn keep pace with Oklahoma's offense.

    Sammy Omosigho

The junior linebacker has been a force to be reckoned with this season and has elevated the level of play from the Sooners' front seven.

He leads the team in tackles with 14 and in sacks with 1.5. He has shown his ability to disrupt offenses both on the ground and through the air.

Auburn will be motivated to grab another statement win early in the season, but will have to fight and earn it.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT and ABC will carry the broadcast.
