After Oregon’s disappointing Peach Bowl loss to Indiana, the Ducks are beginning to prepare for life after quarterback Dante Moore.
And with that, they just received a commitment from former five-star quarterback recruit, Dylan Raiola, who just spent the past two seasons with Nebraska.
Raiola is a super skilled quarterback with a cannon of an arm and was poised to have a major season in Lincoln, until a broken fibula cut his season short.
Shortly after the 2025 season ended, he found his way into the transfer portal.
For Oregon, the addition of Raiola tells us a few things. Coach Dan Lanning does indeed expect Moore to declare for the Draft, and that Raiola is the perfect candidate to lead his typical run-and-gun offense.
Raiola’s career in Lincoln started off red hot, when he was the starting quarterback as a true freshman last season.
In his first six starts, Raiola was on fire, with a 66.7% completion rate, throwing nine touchdowns and just three interceptions.
With that, the Cornhuskers began their season with a 5-1 record, signaling that premier football in Lincoln may be back.
However, it didn’t end up that way.
They ended up losing five out of their final seven games, but did end up winning the Pinstripe Bowl.
During the 2025 season, Raiola showed significant signs of improvement.
He completed 72.4% of his passes, with 18 total touchdowns and six interceptions, however, with losses to Minnesota and USC, it put a damper on a season that many in Lincoln were hoping to be different.
Raiola will be a fantastic fit in Eugene. Even though the transfer portal has been incredibly active this offseason, Oregon is expecting wide receiver Dakorien Moore – who was the nation’s top recruit in the 2024 freshman class – to return to the program.
A connection with Raiola and Moore has the potential to be electric. Raiola managed to thrive in an offense that primarily focused on the run, and formed a solid connection with Nyziah Hunter, who’s a fine receiver.
However, Hunter doesn’t pose the upside that a player like Moore does.
Raiola should also have exceptional protection, securing one of the top offensive tackles in the 2026 freshman class in Immanuel Iheanacho. Plus, now that Oregon has time to focus on the portal, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Lanning attempt to poach a few players with a sweet NIL deal.
Make no mistake, this is a massive addition to the Ducks. Raiola is an eclectic personality who can fit in perfectly with this roster and has the upside to spark fireworks in Eugene.
