Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have added a talented tight end in the transfer portal.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are getting right to work on improving the roster after falling to the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff Semifinal.

The Ducks have landed true freshman tight end Andrew Olesh from Penn State. Olesh has four years of eligibility remaining and was a five-star recruit and the No. 1 tight end in the 2025 class.

This is a major addition for Lanning and Oregon's offense, especially with star tight end Kenyon Sadiq possibly heading to the NFL Draft.

Sadiq would likely be the top tight end of the board if he declares for the NFL Draft, but he is unsure about his decision.

"I’m not sure, but it does help when we have a bunch of guys already coming back," Sadiq said. "I know that. There’s definitely some unfinished business."

Sadiq had an impressive 2025 season, hauling in 51 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns. He was a go-to target for quarterback Dante Moore.

Regardless of whether Sadiq returns or not, Olesh could have a significant impact on the Ducks' offense in 2026 and beyond.

He has a 6-foot-5 236 236-pound frame, making him a big target for a quarterback to have. Olesh should be a seamless fit for Oregon as they try to contend for a National Championship in 2026.

Lanning and the Ducks have a history of developing tight ends. Rams 2025 second-round pick Terrance Ferguson has gone on to have an impressive rookie season in the NFL after a great career at Oregon.

In his senior season, he hauled in 43 receptions for 591 yards and three touchdowns. With Ferguson getting drafted early and Sadiq potentially going in the first round, Olesh knows Oregon can help him reach his full potential.

Lanning has led the Ducks to the College Football Playoff in back-to-back seasons, but fell in the Semifinal in both years. Adding more talent in the transfer portal is pivotal to taking the next step and making it to the National Championship game.

While Oregon still has work to do in upgrading their roster for the 2026 season, Olesh is a high-quality addition at tight end.
