Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore could be one of the top picks if he declares for the NFL Draft. However, there are many questions about whether Moore will return to Oregon or leave for the NFL.
If he does leave, Moore will likely be the first or second pick in the draft, competing with Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza to be the top selection.
Moore had an incredible season with the Ducks, completing 72.9 percent of his passes for 3,280 yards, 28 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
In Fox Sports' latest mock draft, they have Moore being selected with the second overall pick by the New York Jets.
Many analysts have debated whether Moore should go back to school, given that the Jets hold the second overall pick. However, it would be difficult to return to Oregon when he would be one of the top picks in the draft. That would risk a potential injury or his draft sock falling.
The Jets aren't as bad a situation as analysts have made them out to be. While there are question marks about ownership and the head coach, general manager Darren Mougey has done a good job of adding young talent and draft capital.
Mougey traded away stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams at the 2025 trade deadline in exchange for multiple draft picks and young players.
New York has an established top receiver in Garrett Wilson and some other promising weapons in Mason Taylor, Adonai Mitchell, and John Metchie III. The Jets also have some talent on the offensive line, including their 2025 first-round pick, Armand Membou.
Adding Moore to that offense could help the Jets improve drastically. They also have the 16th overall pick, giving them another opportunity to add more talent.
While the Ducks would love to have Moore back, as he's led them to a great season and into the College Football Playoff, it makes more sense for him to declare for the NFL Draft.
If Moore is to leave for the draft, Dan Lanning and the Ducks will need to figure out their next quarterback to remain a top team in 2026.
