The Florida Gators will face the Miami Hurricanes in Week Four of the college football season, a key rivalry matchup for both teams. Kickoff in Miami is set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC this Saturday, Sept. 20.
Here is everything you need to know about the Hurricanes ahead of the pivotal road game for UF.
2025 results: Miami is ranked No. 4 in the country after an impressive 3-0 start to the season. The Hurricanes have one of the best resumes of the early college football year with two wins over teams that were ranked at the time, taking down then-No. 6 Notre Dame 27-24 in the season opener and defeating then-No. 18 South Florida 49-12 last weekend. Those marquee wins were sandwiched around a 45-3 rout of Bethune-Cookman in Week Two.
By The Numbers: The Hurricanes have been explosive on both sides of the ball under head coach Mario Cristobal this year. Miami is outscoring opponents 40-13, while also out-gaining opponents by an average of 486 yards to 279 - a difference of more than 200 yards per game.
Georgia transfer quarterback Carson Beck has been one of the breakout stars of the early season. He has completed 80% of his passes, clocking in at 9.9 yards per completion. Beck has totaled 812 yards through the air with seven passing touchdowns and two interceptions. His leading pass catcher is Malachi Toney, a true freshman who just turned 18 this week. Toney has 18 catches for 228 yards and one touchdown. Also keep an eye on the long-armed CJ Daniels, a senior receiver who leads the Canes with three touchdown receptions.
The Hurricane defense has been active, with four forced fumbles, three interceptions, six sacks, and 21 tackles for loss in three games.
Game Analysis: Both teams have plenty to play for, but only the Gators seem to truly have something to lose. Miami will want the rivalry win, of course, but with two nice victories in their pocket already, a wide open ACC race, and another big opportunity against Florida State coming soon, they can afford a loss to UF in their quest to make the College Football Playoff.
Florida, on the other hand, is already close to spiraling under head coach Billy Napier. Back-to-back losses to LSU and USF have the Gator faithful fuming as it is. If UF's offense produces another dud like last week (highlighted by DJ Lagway's five interceptions), the pressure on Napier may reach a boiling point.
HIGH PRAISE FOR GATOR D: Miami coach Mario Cristobal described Florida's defense as "elite" when breaking down his weekend opponent. He had plenty to say about the entire team, too. | READ MORE
THE PATH FORWARD: Gators coach Billy Napier did some self reflection as he analyzed what needs to be done for UF and its star QB to get back on the right path. | READ MORE
