The No. 25 Florida State Seminoles (3-2) are back in action this Saturday, hosting the Pittsburgh Panthers (3-2). The game kicks off at 12 p.m. in Tallahassee and will be broadcast on ESPN. FSU is coming off back-to-back losses to Virginia and Miami. Pitt just earned its first ACC victory, beating Boston College 48-7 last week.

Here is everything you need to know about the Panthers ahead of the ACC matchup.

Pitt Panthers - The Names and Numbers to Know

2025 Results: After a pair of blowout wins over non-conference opponents to start the season, Pitt dropped back-to-back one-score games against Power Four foes. The Panthers lost to West Virginia 31-24 in overtime and then dropped a 34-27 decision at home against Louisville. Pitt bounced back last week with its 48-7 rout of Boston College.

In that game against the Eagles, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi made a switch at quarterback, dropping incumbent starter Eli Holstein for Mason Heintschel.

By The Numbers: The Panthers score 41 points per game (12th in the country) and concede 19.6 points per game (38th). Pitt is out-gaining opponents by more than 130 yards per game: 423 to 291.8.

The overwhelming majority of Pitt's offense runs through the passing game, as the Panthers are averaging 307 passing yards per game. They are also averaging just over three passing touchdowns per outing.

Leading Passer: Holstein - 74-for-118, 1,058 yards, 11 touchdowns, five interceptions (Heintschel - 33-for-45, 359 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions)

Leading Receiver: Raphael Williams - 18catches, 320 yards, four touchdowns, 17.8 yards per catch

Leading Rusher: Juelz Goff - 45 rushes, 175 yards, three touchdowns, 3.9 yards per rush

Leading Tackler: Linebacker Rasheem Biles - 45 tackles, eight tackles for loss

Game Analysis: FSU is the more talented team by recruiting measures and AP rankings. However, the two specific issues that caused the Seminoles problems against Miami last week will again be put to the test against Pitt.

FSU largely held Miami's vaunted rushing attack in check, but the result was quarterback Carson Beck throwing all over the FSU secondary. Meanwhile, FSU's previously-prolific running game failed to ever get in a groove against the Hurricanes.

Enter the Panthers, who are one of the most effective passing teams in the country and who have one of the nation's most impressive rush defenses.

Pitt's rush defense has been absolutely stifling, allowing only 64.6 yards per game and 1.7 yards per rush. Either FSU will have to buck that trend, or quarterback Tommy Castellanos will have to win the game with his arm.
